About the job
**Job Summary**
The purpose of the Stockbroking Operations Team Leader is to lead and manage a team of specialists who are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the areas Operating Procedures as well as responsible for delivering processes and procedures which support change requests from various channels. The role of the Stockbroking Operations Team Leader is to develop, maintain and monitor an appropriate control environment to ensure daily confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation of trades/transactions in line with agreed protocols.
**Responsibilities**
- Collaborate and assist with the compilation of relevant monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
- Oversee and manage the workflow procedures within areas of operational responsibility, striving for first time resolution and completion rates
- Identify opportunities for processes and procedures to be automated to improve efficiencies and cost management
- Review and authorise payments on payment and settlement interfaces both internal and external interfaces such as BDA, FNB OBE, Calypso, SMART etc.
- Design and develop transaction settlement/relevant deal templates, and training material that enables improvement in the understanding of team processes and procedures
- Take all necessary actions to ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability
- Ensure implementation of relevant policies, governance and practice standards across the business
- Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and FNB’s internal compliance procedures and requirements
- Ensure compliance is adopted in terms of systems and procedures as laid out by the regulator and the organisation
- Implement and provide input into the development of governance and compliance procedures and processes within area of specialisation and identify risks
- Analyze information and reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes, and ensure integrated view and reporting of relevant business information
- Use the insights gained through integrated business reports to measure success and realign tactical strategy implementation objectives appropriately
- Analyse end-to-end processes to identify opportunities to improve business processes
- Effectively manage relationships with the internal and external stakeholders including clients and our clients’ clients
- Develop and maintain a client-centric service culture which builds meaningful and rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and enables others to provide an exceptional client experience
- Ensure first time resolution of relevant customer queries or escalations in accordance with operational goals and standards enhance the customer experience and follow up on queries handed over to other parties or areas to ensure delivery on agreed time lines and SLAs
- Propose improvements on internal processes that

- Provide effective and meaningful communication with internal and external stakeholders, interested parties and beneficiaries
- Drive of operational efficiencies and an ultimate delivery of superior quality customer experiences and improve operational processes and procedures on an ongoing basis and monitor that workflow achieves operational requirements.
- Ensure appropriate resource capacity in the teams, including appropriate skills and experience, are deployed to the projects to ensure all are accountable for the output of the projects
- Manage people by executing management responsibilities and create an environment that encourages employee growth and performance excellence
- Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provide of advice to relevant stakeholders
- Maintain up to date knowledge of local and global trends

**Qualifications**
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accountin
**Experience and Skills**
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in stockbroking operations processing
- A broad knowledge of the JSE BDA System and the importance of segregation of duties
