Social Media Associate

The Social Media Associate assists the social media specialist and graphic designer in serving the Marketing Department nationally through social media, as well as all online and mobile/digital platforms and channels with brand representation. They would be responsible for planning and curating social media content, communication with the target market, reporting, and assisting with online advertising.

Proficiency and in-depth knowledge of major social media platforms and channels
Proficiency in planning and curating engaging and exciting content for Social Media platforms, particularly Facebook, Instagram & TikTok.
Providing support to the designer by updating existing design content for online formats with brand consistency.
Ensuring all content, including text, reels, stories, and videos are in line with the existing style & aesthetic of the AFDA brand
Assist the specialist with image approvals for social media as well as image retouching knowledge.
Keep up to date with online trends, relevant to higher education and the creative economy.
Maintaining a high response rate on Direct Messages, Google Reviews responses, comments on social media posts and online enquiries
Passionate AFDA brand ambassador, reflected in all activities and communication
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (proficient in English)

Ability to manage workflow and deadlines to ensure Social Media content calendar is executed
Ability to work co-operatively in the Branding and Advertising team, as well as with other AFDA staff members
**Roles and responsibilities as per CVP’s (Core Value Points)**:
**Strategy**: Assist with planning brand content calendar and generating content for all SM platforms/channels; research of market analysis for AFDA Brand on new SM platforms
**Student Recruitment**: Engage with student queries on all SM platforms and coordinate feedback with Recruitment Officers; maintaining a minimum of 80% response rate with a high-quality standard of communication; engaging with market to communicate & promote all AFDA events
**Systems and Reporting**: Systems for follow-up communication and feedback; assist with SM monthly & quarterly statistics.
**Advertising and branding**: Implementation of posts on all SM platforms as per content calendar; curating content for all SM platforms/channels with a particular focus on build-up & coverage of AFDA events; curating and implementation of video content on new and existing SM platforms.
**Communication and Relationships**: Planning & establishing relationships with new #HumansofAFDA; engaging with current #HumansofAFDA and key AFDA staff
Role responsibilities and duties
As an extension of the core value points, the following duties are expected to be fulfilled:
Ensuring all comments, DMs, and reviews are responded to timeously to maintain a high response rate and excellent customer service
Timeous and effective posting of engaging content
Planning daily stories and content for all Social Media platforms that require video / images
Curating content during AFDA events; engaging with attendees (to capture / source content) in a friendly and professional manner
Assist in the creation and development of visual assets for marketing materials, social media, and website graphics.
**Assisting the brand team with visual assets**: Promotional communications, social media graphics, and design-related requirements.
Assisting prospective students with enquiries on all AFDA SM platforms/channels
Assist with providing relevant and accurate links, documentation, and information to prospective students/parents on all SM platforms & online communication channels
Assist with accurate monthly and quarterly reporting statistics as required by line manager
Maintaining a professional appearance in dress and presentation at all times.
Qualifications and skills and experience
Preferably to have an Undergraduate Degree qualification from AFDA; or related field to marketing and recruitment (AFDA alumni will be given preference).
Minimum to have a Higher Certificate qualification from AFDA; or related field to marketing and recruitment (AFDA alumni will be given preference).
Experience in running social media marketing, communication campaigns and basic graphic design knowledge.
Customer relations experience is beneficial.
Entry level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
Must be a creative thinker and have artistic ability.
Ability to work under pressure, be able to adapt to shifting needs and priorities.
**Selection criteria**:
Relevant Undergraduate / Higher Certificate degree (AFDA alumni is favourable)
