**Key purpose**:
Purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, considering price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Purchase goods, materials, in line with specified costs, quality and delivery targets.
- Supports the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant operators on purchasing processes, new projects, and activities.
- Provides analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
- Prepares reports and updates as and when required
- Prepares and raise purchase orders and order schedules on Pastel
- Contacts suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Relevant business/commercial qualification
- Working knowledge of Pastel System
- Previous experience of working in purchasing department within a manufacturing environment
- Good communication in English and ability to read and write English
- Ability liaise with colleagues from other departments

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R10,000.00 per month
