Keep the building, the grounds and the facilities clean, safe, well maintained and tidy.

Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing minor equipment or furniture, and ensure the office environment is clean and safe.

Perform gardening duties including planting; soil preparation; fertilization; watering; pest management; pruning etc.

Coordinate and communicate with maintenance contractors for maintenance and repair work.

Keep track of gardening supplies and notify the office manager to order replacements as necessary, and ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.

Empty wastepaper baskets and bins and ensure all refuse is properly disposed of, including recycling management.

Support the housekeeper to regularly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, break rooms, and shared workspaces.

Support security to monitor access to the office and ensure that the premises are secure.

Support the housekeeper to set up meeting rooms with the necessary equipment and refreshments during events and meetings.

Assist in the setup of workspaces including r econfiguration of office layouts as needed, including moving furniture and equipment.

Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.

Prepare outgoing mail and packages for shipment.

Conduct safety checks and notify the office manager if there are pontential health and safety hazards.

Maintain all gardening and maintenance equipment and supplies and ensure their secure keeping.

Maintain living quarters (especially kitchen and ablution facilities) in a clean, presentable, and properly functioning condition at all times.

Any other task that may reasonably fall within the scope of responsibility for the safe, well-maintained, and efficient operation of the Foundation’s offices.

**Technical Competencies**:
Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English. The ability to communicate in Portuguese and/or French will be an added advantage.

Planning and coordination skills

Gardening skills

Basic repair and maintenance skills, such as fixing minor plumbing problems, repairing electrical fixtures, drilling, painting touch-ups, and addressing air conditioning system problems

Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on office equipment and systems

Handling requests and reporting issues in a timely and professional manner.

Proactive

**Academic Requirements**:
Some form of service industry training or at least two year’s employment experience in caretaking and facilities coordination.
