Accounts Officer

An Authorised Financial Services Provider, operating within the life insurance industry in South Africa, requires the services of an Accounts Officer. This permanent position is based in Bellville.
- Ensure the accurate and timeous completion, processing and accounting of allocated reconciliations that concur with the trial balance
- Ensure the timely calculation and payment of commission and fees to clients in line with the terms of the duly executed agreements
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, compile weekly and monthly reconciliations
- Provide accurate results timeously for the completion of the annual external audit
- Ensure the maintenance and reconciliation of the General Ledger accounts
- Co-release of payments
- Ensure compliance, accuracy and validity of claim payments
- Report all risks incidents timeously
- Client interaction
- Engage with other departments within the company (i.e. information requests, query resolution etc.)
- General documentation of processes and procedures
- Drive automation of the accounting processes
**Qualification and Experience needed**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related qualification
- Experience within the financial services industry advantageous
