Life Choices is an innovative and impactful non-profit organisation working to improve the lives of young people and families on the Cape Flats. It runs a number of programmes aimed at improving the health and wellbeing, life skills and leadership, education and employability of those it services. At the heart of Life Choices work is supporting the emotional health and resilience of its beneficiaries.
**Roles and Responsibilities will be**:
- Assessment of each client’s needs
- One-on-one psychosocial support to clients (young people and adults) enrolled in Life Choices programmes
- Group counselling work
- Individual and group supervision sessions
- Booking of 6-7 clients daily (the annual target is 250 clients)
- Networking with various stakeholders and partners
- Representing the organisation, where required
- Administrative work - where and as needed
**Requirements**:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with the SACSSP or a registered counsellor with the HCPSA
- Knowledge of various theories and methodologies (CBT, ACE and solutions focused therapy, use of genogram)
- Knowledge of family and/ youth counselling
- Minimum of two year’s counselling experience, preferably with youth
- Fluency in English, isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans
- Facilitation experience is advantageous
- The ability to work independently and in a team
- Valid drivers’ licence and own vehicle are advantageous

**Salary**: R12,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
