**ROLE**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Recruitment & Selection**:

- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process
- Conduct reference checks and background verification for potential hires
- Assist on the preparation and extension of job offers, negotiate terms, and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees
- Maintain a talent pipeline and database for future hiring needs

**HR Administration**:

- Manage employee records, including personal information, contracts, and compliance with South African labour laws and regulations
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they align with local employment standards
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation and exit interviews
- Support the Management with employee relations matters, including addressing grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
- Administer employee benefits and handle related inquiries

**Employee Engagement & Development**:

- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, and company events
- Assist in identifying training and development needs, coordinating relevant programs to enhance employee skills and performance
- Support the implementation of employee retention strategies and initiatives

**Compliance & Reporting**:

- Ensure compliance with South African labour laws, including Employment Equity, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and the Labour Relations Act
- Prepare and maintain HR-related reports, including recruitment metrics, employee turnover, and compliance documentation
- Assist in the preparation of data for annual employment equity and skills development reporting

**REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in HR administration and recruitment
- In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations, particularly relating to recruitment and employment practices
- Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
