The Procurement & Controls Officer is responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services; assessing and negotiating contracts; identifying and driving opex savings, and the designing, refinement and implementation of procurement policies, procedures and controls. They are also responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a group-wide compliance program, reviewing and auditing company policies, developing and implementing an operational control environment, monitoring and reporting on operational incidents, and advising management on and mitigating possible risks.

**Here’s what you can expect to be doing in the role**:
**Process Design & Implementation**
- Engage with stakeholders to setup and design fit-for-purpose procurement & Operational Risk Management framework, practice and policy
- Create clear SOPs and processes with roles & responsibilities
- Educate and Train stakeholders on the process to drive understanding across the business

**Due Diligence**
- Source and engage reliable vendors including assisting with the tender process and due diligence.
- Work closely with the legal and risk team to review new and existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure strong commercials and ongoing feasibility
- Perform process audits and due diligence including performance evaluations.

**Drive operational cost savings**
- Review, compare, analyze, and approve supplier spend through segmentation, profiling, and evaluation modelling

**Establish Business Control & Performance Management**
- Create Controls to govern spend and vendor management
- Create visibility of effectiveness of controls across the business through development of incident reporting, monitoring and oversight.
- Control environment strengthening where relevant

**Develop & Prepare Reports**
- Prepare reports and ad-hoc reporting to be shared with the Exco and Board.
- Assist in monitoring service levels and ensuring that suppliers adhere to agreed service levels and that these are defined and supported by service level agreements.

**Framework Development and Implementation**
- Assist in developing and implementing the group wide Operational Risk Management framework

**Control Testing and Reporting**
- Conduct testing and report on the group wide control environment adequacy and effectiveness

**A little about who you are**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business management, or a similar field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, procurement, or large-scale business environment
- High level of computer literacy in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of ERP systems and workflow design
- Exposure to multiple supply chains and business models
- Strong communication and negotiation skills (Verbal and written)
- Attention to detail
- Commercially oriented (Business Acumen and Cost Saving Strategies)
- Excellent interpersonal skills (Team player)
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Self-motivated + action-oriented
- Exceptional analytical and technical skills
- Ability to work independently and interface with multiple management levels and multiple areas of the company
