**Job summary**:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Learning Technology to lead our efforts in the online education space. You will be responsible for managing and leading the Learning Technology team, who perform the critical role of bringing the learning and instructional design to life in accordance with best practice across multiple platforms. The team performs a consultancy function to both internal and external stakeholders, making suggestions about the best solutions for respective platforms and technologies. Your role includes fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, strategic planning aligned with company goals, resource management, technology optimization, issue resolution, and providing support for Learning solutions. You’ll be expected to drive innovation, upskilling throughout the team and ensure that we remain at the forefront of the changing landscape whether that be with new platforms or the effective use of AI to aid efficiency. **Responsibilities**:
**Team Leadership**:

- Manage the Learning Technology team, overseeing multiple platforms such as Canvas, EdX, and other relevant technologies (Coursera / LTIs).
- Foster a collaborative and innovative culture, encouraging continuous learning, upskilling and professional development. Oversee career development, performance management, and training requirements for the Learning Technology team.

**Resource Management and Planning**:

- Develop and implement a capacity plan to aid:

- Streamlining and efficiently managing team resourcing across our portfolio of 50+ projects.
- Ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders regarding team utilization.
- Collaborate with the HR department to address staffing needs based on the sales pipeline and strategic objectives.

**Collaboration**:

- Form a strong relationship with other department heads to ensure north star thinking and working towards company goals. Work with the sales team to ensure projects are appropriately priced, risks are considered, and staff are adequately resourced.

**Technology Optimization**:

- Serve as an expert in education technology, providing consultation and training to other departments to optimize their use of technology.
- Drive evolution of the Learning Technology role, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of utilising technology to ensure efficiency and competitiveness.

**Issue Resolution**:

- Act as the point of escalation for any technology-related issues, proactively identifying and resolving challenges. Ensure clear and effective communication during issue resolution processes.

**Support for Project teams**:
Develop training materials and aids as needed to support the creation of effective learning experiences.

**Systems Implementations**:

- Lead or support systems implementations, ensuring smooth integration with existing platforms and processes, including LMS sandbox environments as required.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum undergraduate degree, preferably in EdTech, Computer Science, or Information Systems (Postgraduate qualification preferred).
- 5+ years of exceptional technical knowledge encompassing both front-end (HTML, CSS3, JavaScript ) and back-end web development, Content Management Systems (CMS), and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Proven track record in team leadership and project management.
