Its sales channels covered over 5,100 stores within South Africa and radiated to more than 10 surrounding countries in Southern Africa, such as Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.
From 2012 to the present, Hisense's product sales in the South African market have been increasing year by year. As of 2019, Hisense's refrigerators had a sales volume share of 29% and ranked first in the South African market, with sales revenue also at 26% and ranking first. Hisense's televisions had a sales volume share of 26% and ranked first in the South African market, with sales revenue at 24% and ranking second.
**Key Account Manager**- Independently Owned Businesses & Distributors
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Key Account Manager to oversee and grow relationships with independently owned businesses (IOBs) in Gauteng and manage key distributor accounts, including Atlas, Shaw Group, Rectron, and Esquire. The role focuses on driving sales and market share for Hisense TV, Toshiba TV, Hisense Audio, and Laser Cinema categories.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners and decision-makers at independently owned businesses in Gauteng.
- Develop and execute account-specific plans to maximize sales and brand visibility.
- Act as the primary liaison for distributors, including Atlas, Shaw Group, Rectron, and Esquire.
- Negotiate agreements, manage stock levels, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Monitor distributor performance and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the Hisense and Toshiba product footprint in the independent and distributor channels.
- Achieve sales targets, focusing on volume, revenue, and profitability goals.
- Develop and implement tailored strategies for IOBs and distributors to drive growth in TVs, audio, and laser cinema categories.
- Collaborate with the Sales Director to align on overall business objectives and priorities.
- Ensure brand consistency and premium in-store execution across IOBs and distributors.
- Work with the marketing team to implement promotions, activations, and merchandising campaigns.
- Provide regular training to sales teams at IOBs and distributors to improve product knowledge and sales skills.
- Support distributors and IOBs with product demonstrations and technical expertise.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and generate actionable insights.
- Prepare and present regular reports, including sales forecasts, stock management updates, and market insights.
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless account management.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in key account management, with a strong preference for experience managing independently owned businesses and/or distributors in consumer electronics.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Gauteng and occasionally across South Africa.
- Knowledge of the consumer electronics market and distributor networks is an advantage
