**JOB PURPOSE**

The main purpose of this position is to coordinate the hospital pre-authorisations, confirmations, billing and credit control processes and facilitate the communication process between all role players by providing accurate and timeous clinical information to minimize the financial risk for the organisation including its sub-clinics.

**REPORTING TO**

Patient Services Manager.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- Minimize financial risk by effectively managing patient stay.
- Conduct billing audits to ensure correct and timeous finalization of cases to facilitate reimbursements from funders of claims.
- Consistently and timeously communicate with Funders as contractually agreed through the relevant case management channels.
- Ensure compliance to case management procedures, contracts and legal aspects by utilizing available resources and systems.
- To ensure clinical coding standards are adhered to as per SA coding standards.
- To ensure credit control processes are followed for COID and Funders debtor’s book.

- Must be computer literate.
- Knowledge of Clinical Coding or Coding certificates.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(s)**
- Grade 12.
- Basic ICD 10 and CCSA.
- Knowledge of COID and Medical schemes Act.
- Enrolled Nursing Assistant (Qualification advantageous).

**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE**
- Previous clinical coding exposure in a hospital environment (Eye hospital experience advantageous)
- Be able to read, write and speak English and Afrikaans.
