**Executive Business Development**

**Purpose**

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of a high quality, accurate and timely professional service to client. This position demands a high level of strategic insight and the ability to function both autonomously and within the team in order to realise the growth aspirations of the company.

**Prospecting**
- Develop a strategy for the effective penetration of new markets
- Identify and research opportunities that come up in new and existing markets; prepare action plans for the market, that ensure attainment of company goals (no cold calling)
- Efficient management of workflow procedures within areas of operational responsibility
- Plan & coordinate all functions related to achieving growth targets
- Collaborate closely with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of services, identifying and managing company risks that might prevent growth
- Ensure creative implementation for the achievement of relevant targets and objectives
- Achieve the annual targets assigned
- Participate in Industry events

**Customer Relations Management**
- Gain insight into the market and the client’s needs, concerns and objectives - profile each client to gain a better understanding of who they are and devise an approach.
- Develop proposals, pitches and presentations that speak to the client’s needs
- Build, maintain and/or strengthen new and existing customer relationships
- Identify and maximize opportunities for collaborations with key clients
- Facilitate and participate in internal and external client debriefs
- Submit monthly progress reports, forecasts and sales target reports
- Provide updates on sales leads to Senior Management
- Work with the team to ensure that prerequisites (e.g. prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled

**Brand Development**
- Improve the company’s brand value in the market
- Work closely with C-Suit and primarily profile them.
- Must invest time in understanding industries, key players and decision makers and be intentional about opening doors for all Directors.
- Keep abreast of developments in the industry by conducting research and attending industry functions such as Webinars, events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market trends, new products, and services as well as client expectations
- Activate professional memberships
- Invest in Finance and other relevant business publications to maximise visibility and brand
- Integrate Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts aimed at securing new clients.
- Commercialisation of Protiviti Membership

**People Management**
- Training of Management on how to pursue new business - dos and don’ts.
- Management of the business development department and resources
- Targets and Performance Management of the leadership business development initiatives

**Knowledge**
- Broad knowledge of the South African business landscape
- Financial Service and ICT Sector expertise an advantage
- Regulatory requirements of the professional services industry
- Marketing and sales principles
- Technical Interna/External Audit Knowledge

- Excellent negotiation skills with appropriate decisiveness across a diverse and challenging range of stakeholders

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Preferably CA (SA)
- Post Graduate - Management & Communication/ PR qualification
- MBA qualification advantageous
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in both the Internal/External Audit project management as well as sales/marketing side of running a business
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis
