New Africa Centre houses the executive management of a partnership with Southern New Hampshire University to offer employment to a team of Reviewers who work remotely with the Global Education Movement’s(GEM) Education Assessment Centre.

**Position Summary**:
The Global Education Movement (GEM) is a major SNHU initiative offering university degrees to refugees around the world. Created in 2014, GEM is the first large-scale online learning initiative for refugees, partnering with in-country organizations to deliver high-quality, low-cost education tailored to meet the needs of displaced learners.
The Assistant Manager is a member of the lead staff at GEM’s Education Assessment Centre (known as GEM Hub) supporting operations in a hybrid workspace and working effectively across teams and departments. The Assistant Manager’s work is focused around four key organizational portfolios: Student Experience, Quality Assurance, Employee Value Proposition and Training & Data Analytics. Additionally, s/he oversees the work of one or more Senior Reviewers who supervise a team of Reviewers. The Assistant Manager works with their assigned Senior Reviewer(s) to ensure consistency of evaluations across Reviewers. Senior Reviewers are responsible for training and supporting the team that evaluates student project submissions using a pre-existing rubric designed specifically for each project.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provide day to day support and supervision to of one or more Senior Reviewers
- Consistently evaluate and conduct performance reviews both verbally and in writing on the required timeframe as requested by SNHU
- Oversee one assigned key organizational portfolio and work collaboratively as the point person to advance its objectives, in a way that aligns with the organizational goals;
- Collaborate in the design and implementation of quality assurance processes to maintain high quality educational standards as directed by Southern New Hampshire University and NECHE.
- Participate in the development and implementation of effective delivery models for supplementary online learning initiatives.
- Monitor weekly progress, identify areas for improvement, and generate reports as required.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of training programs and employee value proposition relevant to faculty needs.
- Protect student privacy
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the assessment center's objectives
- Work in a team, both as a leader and active follower as required both in person and digitally
- Assess with integrity, honesty, and ethically
**Minimum Qualifications**:
Qualifications include:
- Conferred Master’s Degree
- Proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships
- Ability to identify individual and team performance opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a dynamic environment
- Prior college-level experience with non-traditional and online learning preferred
- Knowledge or expertise in competency-based education
- Ability to score consistently using a rubric
- Skilled and experienced in working on an electronic management system
- An encouraging and respectful attitude towards all students and colleagues; “can-do” attitude
- Demonstrated level of English fluency at the academic/higher education level
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Demonstrate ability to learn and utilize rapidly changing technological platforms
- Fluency in at least one or more East African languages (Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, French, Swahili) preferred

**Working Conditions & Physical Requirements**
The Assistant Manager will work remotely, in a location (within South Africa) of their choice.
All work is completed on your personal computer and via cell phone. Hours are not flexible.
Reliable online connectivity is a requirement, and your personal computer must be adequate.
**Compensation**
The Assistant Manager will be offered the equivalent in ZAR (South African Rand) of $2000 / month
