Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an **F&B-focused Assistant General Manager** for an awarding-wining property based in the Winelands. As the Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring guest satisfaction and supporting the General Manager in achieving the hotel's profitability and operational success.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Leadership and Management:

- Lead by example and maintain good relationships with the team
- Train reporting lines on rules and regulations
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels and other organizations

Professional Standards:

- Focus on guest delight and maintain an impeccably professional appearance
- Remain friendly and professional at all times, offering engaging and empathetic service
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels and other organizations

Technical and Functional Elements:

- Maximize employee productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling
- Ensure F&B outlets operate to maximize profit and deliver on brand promise
- Coordinate preparation of Annual Business Plan for Food and Beverage
- Strategically analyze business performance for accurate forecasting
- Proactively manage costs based on key performance indicators
- Adhere to policies and procedures relating to financial record keeping and money handling
- Assist in inventory management and maintenance of hotel equipment and assets
- Assist General Manager in day-to-day operations and resolving guest complaints
- Ensure compliance with hotel operating controls, policies, procedures, and service standards
- Perform property inspections and maintain property, grounds, and work areas to standard
- Implement company minimum brand standards and optional brand standards as appropriate
- Monitor operations during peak business periods and make necessary adjustments
- Foster a supportive and flexible team environment focused on guest satisfaction
- Taste and monitor food and beverage products and provide feedback
- Conduct regular communication meetings and effective departmental briefings
- Evaluate market trends and hotel/restaurant operations to remain competitive
- Encourage marketing and public relations opportunities to increase business
- Oversee recruitment and selection of Front of House F&B employees
- Oversee punctuality and appearance of F&B employees and ensure grooming standards are met
- Develop Heads of Department through appropriate training, coaching, and mentoring
- Conduct annual Performance Development Discussions with Heads of Department
- Ensure Heads of Department conduct annual Performance Development Discussions with their employees
- Encourage employees to be creative and innovative and recognize their contributions to the operation's success.
