**Legal and Company Secretarial Officer - Sandton**
An opportunity exists for a **Legal and Company Secretarial Officer **at one of the large law firms based in Sandton
Qualifications:
- LLB Degree. An admitted attorney with: (i) at least 4 - 6 years company secretarial experience at a reputable company; (ii) experience as in-house legal counsel is advantageous, but not a requirement; (iii) management experience is advantageous, but not a requirement.
- Compliance;
- Company Law;
- Governance; or
- Company Secretarial course/s.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- General company secretarial experience is essential (eg attend to filings at CIPC, maintain share registers, prepare for meetings, draft minutes, etc);
- Company law knowledge and exposure is essential;
- Exposure to committees and compliance with the Social and Ethics Committee requirements;
- Drafting experience is essential (eg policies, procedures, committee mandates, agreements, etc);
- Exposure to BBBEE compliance requirements is advantageous;
- Knowledge of the Legal Practice Act is advantageous;
- Knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption is advantageous;
- A basic understanding of occupational health and safety is advantageous;
- Compliance exposure is advantageous;
- General assistance to the HOD; and
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the HOD.
**Duties**:
- Perform the Company Secretarial function; and
- Advise on legal matters from time to time.
