**A**
**bout the Role**

**Business Partnering**- Be the financial business partner to the Market Executive MEA, his management team and extended cross-functional teams covering the region, acting as their financial advisor and port-of-call for all financial matters.- Support or lead projects and critical initiatives for the MEA region- Support origination and lead the financial part of the due diligence process for complex transactions, closely collaborating with Client Markets, Underwriting, Actuarial and Risk Management teams, as well as finance colleagues from e.g. Accounting, Tax, or Treasury.

**Business Steering**- Provide transparency on the market performance and engage with the business to interpret variances to plan and to recommend actions- Identify sustainable profitability and growth opportunities across Core, Transactions and Solutions

**Reporting and analytics**- Ensure timely and accurate analysis and submissions to the MEA Leadership Team and other partners (pipeline information, dashboards, renewal analysis, quarterly performance report, etc.)- Further improve data capabilities for MEA specific purposes jointly with specialists in other teams

**Carrier Responsibilities**- Prepare various legal entity reports and present these to the company´s Africa Board of Directors- Prepare various local regulatory returns on behalf of the us- Quarterly analysis and reporting of US GAAP results of our P&C business to the Group- Assist in the balance sheet management and capital planning processes of the entity

**Projects and initiatives**- Drive a broad range of projects ranging from ad-hoc analyses to longer-term initiatives, often in collaboration with other teams and functions.

**About the Team**

The SA Carrier Reporting & Analytics team is responsible for the management of the Swiss Re Africa Balance sheet and all related financial reporting related to the carrier. It is also the go-to function in the region for all questions regarding performance management, financial steering and reporting and provides advisory on growth initiatives, transactions, and other business priorities. The team is part of the Finance Reinsurance EMEA department and works closely with client managers, other teams in Finance and the wider Swiss Re organisation. You will also be part of the EMEA Financial Performance and Analysis team, which consists of members based in Zurich, Munich, Luxembourg, London and Cape Town.

**About You**- University degree in finance, business, natural sciences or equivalent- Several years of relevant work experience, good knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business and performance drivers- Solid understanding of multi-valuation concepts, in particular EVM, SAM or IFRS- Outstanding analytical skills and commercial approach, keen to develop convincing storylines- Curiosity and flexibility to thrive in a global and dynamic business environment across all lines of business and regions- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels- Great teammate with high degree of personal accountability and ability to work independently- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and deliver results within time constraints- Strong computing and data management skills, knowledge of Swiss Re finance systems
