Front Office Receptionist

An upmarket boutique guesthouse in Bellville offering 8 luxury suites is looking for a neat and well presented receptionist to carry out all front office duties. Applicants must be able to manage the front desk on their own, must be fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans), show a stable work history with at least 3 years experience in a similar role within an upmarket hospitality environment and be **FULLY PROFICIENT WITH SEMPER PMS.** 45 hour work week with shifts as required.
**_ Key Duties & Responsibilities_**
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate, do marketing (Facebook, Instagram etc.)
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
- Oversee that breakfast / dinner is prepared every 2nd week and weekends when General Manger is not available.

Requirements and skills_**
- Work experience as a Receptionist or similar role
- Experience with hotel reservations software, Semper (nonnegotiable),
- Customer orientated service attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Professional and neat appearance
