**_ Position Purpose:_**

The Senior Manager: Portfolio Management Office (SM: ePMO) is primarily responsible for the design, implementation and

management of a Portfolio Management Office to plan & direct the required processes, provide oversight of and support the

delivery of a portfolio of strategic initiatives designed to enable successful delivery of the organisational strategy.

The bulk of these portfolio of strategic initiatives relate to the Transnet Segment Strategies. The incumbent will also be

expected to also support other strategic initiatives critical for strategic and organisational turnaround of Transnet.

The incumbent leads the team that acts as the central nexus of strategy delivery integration within the organization, working

hand in hand with the various implementation teams to plan, map, provide oversight of and where required, support delivery

of initiatives identified as strategic contributors towards the achievement of the organizational strategy.

In addition, the ePMO supports the Strategy Delivery department with departmental planning, resource allocation,

administrative requirements and similar functions. The SM: ePMO is responsible for managing these processes.

**_ Position outputs:_**

roadmap and associated processes to translate the Transnet organizational strategy into an organizational roadmap
- including opportunities and initiatives geared towards delivery of the approved strategy;
- Develop and maintain ongoing strategic initiative status reporting to link the organizational strategic aims and goals set, and

the portfolio of strategy delivery related initiatives and business changes;
- Manage the integration of strategy delivery related processes surrounding the strategic and business planning process,

coordinating activities, collating and consolidating information and data from strategic conversations within the organization
- for inclusion in the strategic and business plans;
- Design and develop a cross-functional environment to enable and support strategy delivery leads (currently Segment

Leads), including a focus on portfolio risk and interdependency mitigation, the provision of an oversight function for various
- initiatives encompassed in the strategy;
- Through the careful allocation of a project and programme management focused ePMO team, participate in and support the

initiative delivery process to assure alignment to strategy, governance process adherence, consistency in methodology and
- uniformity of delivery;
- Further develop, implement and maintain the performance monitoring, reporting and evaluation system for the company as

it pertains to strategic interventions and initiatives;
- Establish and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders in order to enhance opportunities and mitigate risks

related to the execution of Transnet strategic initiatives, programmes and projects;
- Implement and maintain adequate controls of departmental budget with proactive and prudent cost containment and

adherence to Transnet finance and accounting policies and procedures;
- Develop and manage staff by instilling a high-performance culture via the organisational performance management system

to enhance the departmental objectives and individual development;
- Conduct all performance planning sessions and compile Performance Management Plans per Transnet requirements;
- Ensure staff are managed in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legal requirements.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- Unless the incumbent can demonstrate that he/she demonstrates leadership skills and competencies through experience,

a Bachelor’s degree in a management related discipline (B.Com, B. Tech, B. Eng, or similar);
- Recognised project or programme management qualification is required, such as MSP/ PMI PMP/PGMP;
- At least 10 years senior management experience, including participation in processes related to strategic planning,
