**About the Account Manager: Utility Services role**

We are hiring an Account Manager to join our Utility Services team based in **Richmond Park**, **Cape Town **office.

The purpose of this role is to promote the sales of Rubicon solutions, products, and services to prospective and existing Utility Scale customers in line with the sales strategy. This includes maintaining long term business relationships and the creation of profitable sustainable business growth.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build and manage a portfolio of Utility Scale customer accounts to include existing and development Accounts
- Ensure sales proposals and contracts are delivered to the customer in compliance with Company Policies and Standards, obtaining the appropriate internal and/or external approvals
- Provide engineering design assistance and support to customers
- Optimize customer bill of materials (BOMs) to ensure cost minimization and reduced lead times
- Manage end-to-end logistics of all equipment supplied by Rubicon to customers including imports
- Proactively identify any potential delays and communicate any delays promptly to internal stakeholders and to customers
- Consult with other functions on issues like pricing, logistics, product specification, warranties and product adaptation to ensure that we provide the appropriate business and technical solutions to meet the needs of our customers
- Collaborate with all internal and external sales and support teams to increase market penetration, assure sales coverage and provide appropriated order fulfilment
- Developing business relations with senior management of customers, identifying key decision-makers and understanding their business, strategy and direction
- Overall account coordination, and implementation of strategic sales tools to ensure world effective approach to opportunities
- Share and drive information about new potential Accounts with Management for further analysis
- Takes initiative in response to changing circumstances within the organization or markets
- Stay abreast of any information relative to competition or market trends and new competitive product developments
- Utilization and up-to-date maintenance of the sales and customer relationship management tools, optimizing activities by ensuring update to these tools in a timely manner
- Keeps skills and knowledge in all areas (technical and commercial) up to date
- Ensure all orders and sales are structured to optimize cash flow for the company

**Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or another related technical field
- 3-5 yrs similar or previous job experience exceeding business sales objectives
- Relevant Industry Knowledge, e.g. Solar/PV
- Experience in account management and development
- Able to demonstrate collaborative working, able to deliver results in a pressured environment
- Ability to manage projects on an end-to-end basis
- Proven ability to work/thrive within complex matrixed organizations, Global / EMEA sales experience preferred
- Diverse communication skills (social media, panels, corporate)
- Ability to Influence key customer decisions
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

**Personal competencies**:

- Communication - Communicating well on a regular basis with project managers, buyers, business executives, EPC's & suppliers as well as internal stakeholders and management.
- Customer Relationships - Understands and demonstrates the importance of maintaining good customer relations.
- Project management - Take charge of moving a project along from its initial bid to the final completion, strong organizational and client management skills to manage multiple projects.
- Leadership - Developing & managing relationships with key clients, must have good leadership skills and be able to sell the Utility Services value adds.
- Problem-solving - Must have strong problem-solving skills to identify a problem and take the necessary steps to overcome it, while keeping client and financial limitations in mind. Able to reverse complex situations.
- Consistently engage collaboratively across both internal organization and Customer functions
- Work as a ‘Hunter' be inquisitive and probe the customer for information, asking relevant questions and identify opportunities for Rubicon to add value and help customers solve problems
- Ability to maintain composure in high pressure environments
