The Senior Travel Consultant is accountable to the Coega Corporate Travel Manager Operations of the Coega Development Corporation (CDC).
- MANDATE
- The Senior Travel Consultant is mandated by the Executive Manager Operations to take responsibility for the coordination and provision of travel management services of the Coega Corporate Travel under the specific direction of the Executive Manager and as outlined in Clause 3.0.
- DESCRIPTION3 RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS

The primary objective of the Senior Travel Consultant is to ensure proper co-ordination and provision of the travel management services by the Coega Corporate Travel (CCT). This includes services to internal and external clients. In pursuance of this primary objective the Senior Travel Consultant is required to:
**Travel Management Systems**
- Determine travel systems requirements;
- Develop and maintain a travel management system to ensure efficient travel and cost management;
- Maintain proper licensing of travel systems;
- Develop and Manage Travel profiles on travel systems.

**Travel Bookings/Services**
- Handling all International and complex fare itineraries including individuals and groups;
- Co-ordinate and process the travel activities which include flight bookings, hotel accommodation, car rentals and domestic ground transportation;
- Issuing Air Tickets including Exchanges and processing of refunds;
- Committing to searching and delivering the best travel options to our clients in terms of fare alternatives and service, ranging from low-cost point-to-point travel options to the most complex round-the-world itineraries;
- Managing each booking with care and responsibility, ensuring that all client's profile requirements are met, the client's travel policy is respected, and any necessary visa and health travel requirements are correctly addressed.
- Provide support to travel clients;
- Report to CCT Manager and staff on travel activities, improvements and opportunities;
- Keep accurate records of travel activities;
- Maintain a good customer service to all CCT clients;
- Negotiate rates with agents on car rentals, accommodation and air travel;
- Negotiate service levels with service providers;
- Availability to cover night-, weekend
- and holiday shifts is considered a mandatory requirement Key Skills and Experience
- Managing all travel projects ranging from individual reservations to large groups.
- Oversee all BSP - IATA activities.
- Co-ordinate administrative support services;
- Submit Tax Invoices from Creditors to Back Office for Payment process
- Submit Tax Invoices for Billing Purposes verified, Matched and Loaded on ECM

**Marketing and Promotions**
- Monitor Treasury e-Tender Portal
- Prepare travel information for marketing and promotion purposes;
- Promote CCT services to internal and external clients;
- Market CCT products and services to secure clients;
- Liaise with travel agencies and other key partners, airlines and vehicle rentals.
- Submit Tenders to Government Clients and well as private companies

**Management of the Day-to-Day Travel Office**
- Planning and Budgeting for the CCT Travel creditors
- Submit day-to-day tax invoices for the credit card and Diners for running of the Office
- Cash Management analysis
- Prepare Travel Office reports

Furthermore, you are to ensure that:

- You are aware of and have access to the CDC’s SHEMS;
- You are aware of your responsibilities and duties as laid out in the CDC’s SHEMS;
- You are aware that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner;
- You ensure that the company’s housekeeping standards are maintained throughout your area of responsibility;
- You report any unsafe conditions or acts which you cannot rectify yourself to your SHE representative or to the Senior SHE Project Manager as soon as possible;
- You report all SHE incidents which occur within your area of responsibility promptly and in the correct format;
- You are totally familiar with your responsibilities in terms of the CDC’s emergency plan;
- You communicate to the Senior SHE Project Manager any required changes to the SHEMS prior to implementing these changes;
- You timeously complete and correctly record any corrective action which needs to be taken in order to rectify a SHE matter;
- You give full co-operation to, and participate in (as required), the CDC’s internal and external SHEMS audits.

You have the authority to:

- Immediately stop any person(s) on CDC property from committing an unsafe or destructive act or omission;
- Take whatever immediate steps you deem necessary to prevent injury or environmental damage when confronted with an unsafe or destructive condition.

4 COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant Degree/ Diploma;
- 2-5 years’ experience in Travel Management services;
- Knowledge of at least 1 GDS (mandatory requirement) with a minimum experience of 4 years. Multi-GDS experience will be considered as a preferred skill especially Galileo(Travelport);
