**WINES MANAGER (SALES & MARKETING)**

Our client, a well-known and established wine and herbs estate located in Franschhoek, has a vacant position for a **WINES MANAGER (SALES & MARKETING)**.

The estate produces well-known wines, herbs and fruits, and has an upmarket restaurant and tasting room where the wines and farm produce can be enjoyed. The estate is also renowned for its facilities and gardens which are open for events such as weddings, year-end functions, lunches and picnics. The estate also provides several upmarket holiday cottages.

The Wines Manager (Sales & Marketing) position consists of a diverse portfolio in terms of wine sales and marketing (internal and external), front of house and tasting room, brand image that supports the sales and marketing strategy.

**Minimum Job Requirements and skills**:

- Sales and Marketing Qualification or equivalent.
- At least 3 - 5 years’ successful experience in Sales and Marketing (experience in wine and tourism will be beneficial).
- Proven track record of successful sales and marketing experience.
- Valid driver's license and own car.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of clients.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

**Key Responsibilities, but not limited to**:

- **Managing wines sales & marketing objectives with team**:

- Liaise with the Wine Maker, Shareholders and Financial Manager to do, agree, and implement all wine-related costings and sales prices.
- Monthly expense management.
- Develop actions plans to achieve annual objectives.
- Report monthly customer feedback.
- Report monthly on sales vs plans.
- **Achieve wine sales & marketing goals - External Sales**:

- Grow and maintain relationships with customers.
- Communicate with existing customers, manage visits, understand and meet needs.
- Promote company’s offering and introduce product portfolio to potential customers.
- Summarize all feedback, report on results and draft necessary action plans.
- Manage relationship with Franschhoek Tourism & Franschhoek Vignerons.
- Manage VIP visits, site inspections, customers visits.
- Off-site tastings calendar.
- Participate in wine trade shows.
- **Front of House and Tasting Room - Internal Sales**:

- Provide quality service and customer experience at cellar door.
- Promote company’s offering and introduce product portfolio with all customers.
- Maintain SOP’s.
- Create and introduce promotional and marketing ideas.
- Managing promotions and marketing activities.
- Product and skills training with staff.
- Support to Hospitality and Events Manager.
- Back up for MOD duties.
- Support and assist team during busy times (Christmas, New Year or Public holidays).
- **Brand image that supports the sales and marketing strategy**:

- Custodian of company and brand image.
- Image and standards of the Wine Tasting Centre maintained.
- **People & Labour management**:

- Offer leadership, direction, guidance and motivation to team.
- Ensure all labour laws are complied with at all times.
- Training of tasting room & other Hospitality and Events staff.
- Ensure the team conducts themselves in terms of company values, policies and procedures.
- Conduct yourself in terms of company values, policies and procedures.
- **Nurture a culture that is united by the company’s core values**:

- Open & honest interactions with teams.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of and understand the values, strategic direction and company policies & procedures.
- Respectful dealings with all.
