Production and Procurement Coordinator

**Introduction**:
Our client, a medical devises manufacturer, is looking for a **Procurement & Production Coordinator** to coordinate and expedite various technical components to ensure availability of stock as required. The job holder will take responsibility for specific procurement, projects, should have technical knowledge, expertise and understanding of technical components and supply chain management.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 with a relevant Degree or Diploma (i.e., Business/Commercial/Engineering/ Project Management/ Logistics)
- At least 2 years’ **experience in Procurement and Expediting in a manufacturing environment, with a technical background.**:

- **Technical Procurement experience** and exposure with reading and understanding of schematics/ technical drawings.
- Experience in ERP management environment interfacing with BOM, Stores, Finance and Production etc.
- Advanced computer literacy (MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, ERP)
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and components and supply chain management
- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines Commercially and financially aware
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy

**Primary duties**:
**Procurement and Production**
- Ensure timely delivery of ordered items. Deal with any potential queries/discrepancies regarding delivery of goods.
- Continuous updating of the order spreadsheet in collaboration with the Specialist Buyer, Suppliers and Incoming Parts Coordinator.
- Assist in obtaining multiple quotes from various Suppliers as and when required, to ensure an atmosphere of competitive pricing is maintained.
- Suggest the metrics for cost reduction per item.

**Relationship Management**
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications that enable positive negotiation.

**Supplier Management**
- Assist in the ongoing initiatives to monitor sub-contractor and supplier systems and performance on an ongoing basis to ensure their continual improvement at least matches that of the Company
- Continuous sourcing and evaluation of potential alternative suppliers to ensure a healthy competitive procurement environment.

**General and Task Management**
- Manage the expediting process for a given set of goods/ components in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Provide technical / commercial assistance to Specialist Buyer to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge.

**Salary**: R22 000 to R25 000 PM
