**Programme Coordinator (Short Learning Programmes)**

**Role**

Tshwane Institute for Continuing Education is a recently established and growing continuing education company. We seek a highly competent and energetic Programme Coordinator to be responsible for short learning programme (SLP) provision. The programme coordinator is a key person in the company who undertakes a variety of administrative and program management tasks. The coordinator will assist in planning and organising programmes and activities as well as carry out important operational duties.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists management in day-to-day coordination and management of a portfolio of business programme activities;
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards for continuing education SLPs;
- Ensures compliance with company standards and procedures;
- Maintains effective communication with stakeholders;
- Liaises with stakeholders in the production of curriculum design, development and implementation of all SLPs through the use of service level agreements (SLAs);
- Manages the availability of faculties, recruits, supervises and evaluates facilitators and personnel in continuing education;
- Ensures compliance with CHE, SAQA, QCTO, SETA, professional body requirements and other regulations;
- Supports stakeholders to identify new continuing education SLPs;
- Maintains budget and track expenditures/transactions;
- Ensures technology is used correctly for all SLPs and related programmes (video conferencing, presentations etc.);
- Supports growth and programme development;
- Safeguards that the intellectual property of SLPs is protected and maintained, as needed;
- Prepares documentation for reporting to regulators, etc., as necessary;
- Maintains clear and accurate operations documents/procedures for reference purposes; and
- Conducts regular evaluations of SLPs for improvement purposes.

Minimum Education, Skills and Abilities
- Three-year diploma or degree in operations management, business administration, communications or a related field with a minimum of three years’ experience including some knowledge of educational administration and some knowledge of higher education teaching, including offering SLPs;
- Knowledge and experience in operationalising continuing education SLPs;
- An understanding of the higher education regulatory environment;
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community;
- Capable of raising issues arising from SLP offerings and requiring coordination with other departments;
- Oral and written communication skills.

Experience
- Prior educational programme coordination experience is desirable.
- Experience in working with a continuing education body.
- Experience in working in a higher education, or related environment.
