- We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Tier 2 IT Support Technician to join our team. As a Tier 2 IT Support Technician, you will play a vital role in providing technical support and maintaining the smooth operation of our Linux and Windows servers, with a focus on desktop support, network support, and hardware support. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in server management and processes, along with expertise in various IT technologies.**Responsibilities**:
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for Linux and Windows servers, ensuring their optimal performance and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Assist in desktop support, addressing end-user technical problems and providing timely resolutions.
- Support network infrastructure, troubleshoot network-related issues, and assist in network configuration tasks.
- Offer hardware support, including troubleshooting hardware failures and coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements.
- Utilize SQL knowledge to troubleshoot database-related issues and perform basic administration tasks.
- Administer Office 365 and ensure the smooth operation of associated services.
- Display knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies such as Xen, Proxmox, Hyper-V, and XCP-ng.
- Understand storage technologies, including RAID, JBOD, iSCSI, and NFS, and their implementation in an enterprise environment.
- Maintain strong customer relations and adhere to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) when addressing technical issues.
- Familiarity with Mikrotik routers and their configuration is considered advantageous.**Inherent Requirements**
- Proven experience as a Tier 2 IT Support Technician or similar role, with a strong emphasis on server management and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and the ability to perform basic administration tasks.
- Proficiency in desktop support, addressing end-user technical issues.
- Experience in network support, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Solid hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Office 365 administration and support.
- Understanding of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and its components.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Xen, Proxmox, Hyper-V, and XCP-ng.
- Knowledge of storage technologies, including RAID, JBOD, iSCSI, and NFS.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is an added advantage.
- 2-4 years minimum experience.
