**Learning & Development Manager**
The Learning & Development Manager has to understand the business operations and be innovative, strong decision-makers and outstanding facilitators of learning and change.
**Key Requirements and Role Responsibilities.**
- Develop an integrated learning and development plan which aligns with the legislative skills authorities to ensure compliance with the Employment Equity and Skills Development legal frameworks as well as the Company’s learning and development framework.
- Ensuring mandatory learning and development requirements are consistently delivered to meet statutory requirements.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops to employees at all levels of the organisation, using a variety of methods, including classroom, online, and on-the-job training.
- Identify and assess training needs through consultation with internal stakeholders,
- Design and administer skills gap assessments with employees to create individualised training plans needed to strengthen their existing skills or learn new ones.
- Design and develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, e-learning modules, and job aids.
- Develop a structured approach to talent management and succession planning that offers effective development for our people.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, using a variety of metrics, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Provide effective and accurate administration, MI, and reporting on the training function.
- Develop and manage a training portal and Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation and maintenance, user management, and reporting.
- Develop and manage the learning and development budget, ensuring that programs are delivered within budgetary constraints.
- Management of the OHS function within the Company.
**Self Development**
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development.
- Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree in a field of Education or Management.
- 5-8 years’ experience in an L&D Manager role, preferable to the Security Industry.
- Driver's license.
- Computer literacy (MS Office) at an advanced level - particularly MS Excel and MS Word
- Training, coaching and/or mentoring experience.
- Experience of leading the development and coordination of talent management and succession strategies
- Is highly credible to internal and external stakeholders and is committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
- Has strong analytic and critical reasoning skills to assess risks, anticipate difficulties and is capable of effective problem solving.
- Can demonstrate a strong knowledge of current employment legislation in relation to OD/L&D
- Able to translate strategic goals into effective and achievable plans and is capable of monitoring their progress and outcomes.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures.

- Excellent communication skills: a compelling communicator should be able to effectively engage the attention of executive stakeholders.
