**Job Description
- This role is open to applicants in South Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, Brazil and Chile locations.**

The purpose is to centralise specific E&M data with a respective governance framework.

**Your duties will include**:

- Facilitate a data governance framework that outlines the policies, roles, and responsibilities for managing master data
- Identify the different domains of master data within E&M (baseline asset tactics, refined asset tactics, specs, etc.)
- Assess the quality of existing master data, identifying inconsistencies, errors, and duplicates that need to be addressed
- Define data standards, naming conventions, and rules for capturing, storing, and maintaining master data consistently
- Assign data ownership responsibilities to individuals or teams who are accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the master data
- Refine processes for data creation, validation, maintenance, and archival, ensuring adherence to data governance policies and standards
- Define access controls and permissions to ensure appropriate data access and prevent unauthorized changes to master data

**Qualifications**:

- An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline
- A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline would be an advantage

**Experience**
- Deep understanding of Master Data principles and practices
- Understanding of the engineering & maintenance value chain and its key drivers
- Previous experience as the custodian of master data within a large, complex organisation
- Proven ability to put relevant strategies and practices in place to improve quality, standardisation and effectiveness of master data, ideally within a resources environment
- Proven ability to educate and coach colleagues on master data standards and practices
- Working knowledge of master data systems
