Position: Project Manager (E-Commerce)

**Salary**: ZAR 20-30k per month

Introduction: Since the discovery of fire, and long before, men have struggled to express their feelings to the women they love. Lifeboat Jewelry exists to help men use anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine’s and Christmas gifts of jewelry as a way to show their feelings. We give a voice to the hunter-gatherer brain, and help couples to fall deeper in love.

Mission: Lifeboat Jewelry takes artisanal hand-crafted and unique pieces of jewelry from around the world. We curate a collection of exquisite pieces to help men in the USA who are buying for their partner, and explain through blogs and customer service agents what would be most appropriate for them to buy. Then we work with them to set reminders and schedule future gift purchases in advance, offering peace of mind through the seas ahead.

Background: The business was founded by 2 executives from a consumer healthcare company, with extensive experience of team building, brand development and e-commerce growth.

The role: We are seeking a Project Manager to help drive early stage growth in e-commerce activities. This will mean helping the Founders to organize photo shoots for products, review and hire a variety of freelancers for web development, graphics, content etc and set up and administer accounts on our own Shopify website as well as other ecommerce sites, such as Etsy.

This is a diverse role, offering the opportunity to learn a wide array of business skills, essential to early success of a new brand. The Founders have a strong belief in developing talent and will give you the hands-on experience and mentorship to grow your career and learn new skills.

You will support with:

- Sourcing suppliers: Working with the Founders to leverage their extensive contacts in to source and get quotes from vendors to supply packaging, materials and fulfillment services.
- Sourcing & managing freelancers: Using Fiver, Upwork, People Per Hour and other platforms to find high quality copywriters, photo retouchers and other specialists on an as-needed basis to help get the brand ready for launch.
- Administration: Ensuring the flow of decision making and output is maintained by keeping on top of documentation, meeting minutes, tasks lists and other work.
- Bookkeeping: Minor work keeping receipts and other spending records and ensuring they are entered into Xero accounting software
- Data management: Ensuring all files and records are accessible to the right people and other sensitive information is appropriately secured and stored.
- Social media: Helping to post and manage on various platforms to drive traffic to the site. This will mainly be done with the support of freelancers but will need oversight and “big picture” strategic thinking to tie together a consistent voice of brand.

Essential skills/experience:

- Proven ability to multi-task a diverse range of projects and keep them to schedule
- Evidence of being a ‘self-starter’ and showing initiative in a work environment e.g. suggesting new and better systems for operations or on-boarding new software in a business
- Ability to learn new skills on Udemy or other platforms to help enhance your ability to take on new challenges e.g digital marketing courses to experiment with SEO or manage freelancers more effectively
- Ability to multitask and deal with a rapid pace of change as the company grows

Preferred skills/experience:

- Social media management with any of Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc
- Experience administering e-commerce sites such as WooCommerce, Shopify etc. Experience with Etsy a big plus
- Understanding of craft/jewelry market a plus but not required
