Employee Relations Manager

Our client in the Explosives Manufacturing industry is currently looking for an Employee Relations Manager with a minimum of +10 years of experience. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Employee Relations reporting and Identifying, and closing of gaps in the Employee Relations system.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with employee relations governance and processes: (e.g. disciplinary hearings, grievances, redundancies, industrial action, unfair labour practice, transfer of businesses, Bargaining Council, CCMA & labour court matters).
- Understands the ER climate and challenges within the business and the potential impact.
- Drives relationship and engagement management with key stakeholders (unions, management, employees, and external communities).
- Represent the company in employer associations, e.g. NBCEA, etc.
- Ascertains and communicates the impact of decisions and actions on wider employee relations, precedent setting, morale, and reputational risk.
- Attends appeal hearings, senior-level grievances and other employee relations meetings as advisor and to ensure procedural and substantive fairness.
- Ensures that Disciplinary and Incapacity procedures are adhered to.
- Employee Relations conducted by legislation, codes of conduct and company policy.
- Compliance with procedural and substantive fairness requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HR guidelines and regulations.
- Protection of the interests of both the Client and the employee and ensure value-driven employee relations is created.
- Drives the Employee Relations partnership forums for the business and engages with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Managers equipped to effectively deal with sensitive employee matters.
- Assist with Collective Bargaining for the Sector where applicable.
**Requirements**:
- Graduate degree in HR and or Law + relevant post graduate qualifications.
- Must have 10 years’ experience in Human Resources, in a unionized environment.
- Must have 10 years’ experience in managing Employee Relations function / service delivery.
- Sound multi-functional stakeholder management and engagement abilities.
- Ability to engage at Exco level when necessary.
- Ability to Travel in South Africa and Africa International Sites.
