**Position**: IT Technician

**Location: Durban**

**Remuneration: 18k - 25kk - dependent on experience**

**Company Description**

Star Retailers comprises eight independent Spar supermarkets in the greater Durban area. The group is looking for an IT Technician to monitor, support and maintain all computer systems and networks throughout the group.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment, systems, and connectivity issues; makes adjustments and repairs as necessary.
- Install and provides maintenance and support for every aspect of electronic equipment such as computer hardware, software, networking and telephony.
- Moves, sets up and arranges computer equipment as needed.
- Performs virus and/or malware removal.
- Maintains records of all computer and network hardware repairs.
- Monitor network availability, performance and security.
- Oversee troubleshooting for system errors.
- Procurement of hardware and software from suppliers where necessary.
- Ability to travel to various locations of the group’s stores as and when needed.

**Competencies**
- Relevant 3-year IT qualification ( OR CompTIA A+ and N+)
- A genuine passion for Information Technology.
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage incidents and prioritize accordingly.
- Good time management skills, with ability to multi-task.
- Must work well with deadlines and in a pressurized environment.

**Experience**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within an IT environment.
- Experience working with printers, network cabling, active directory

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary, Permanent

Pay: R18,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month
