The main purpose of this position is to manage the facilities maintenance function in the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) Head Office for the optimal upkeep of fixed physical assets.
Detailed Description
Develop facilities management strategies, processes, operational plans and standards, and ensure alignment thereof with related functions.
- Plan and manage the facilities maintenance front-end function and services of the SARB Head Office and official residences, which includes the following areas: plumbing, mechanical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical and electronics, building, soft services and utilities management.
- Optimise the division’s resource utilisation, allocate work, and manage the accountability of resources.
- Manage and ensure compliance with facilities management policies, processes, standards and legislation at the SARB.
- Identify, manage and mitigate the risks associated with facilities management in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, as amended.
- Compile and manage the budget for the division, and ensure standard procurement practices and expenditure within prescribed limits.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, service providers and clients to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Monitor quality and divisional deliverables, and provide relevant reports to senior management.
- Manage the performance and development of the team.
Job Requirements
the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or a BTech degree (NQF 7) in Engineering or Built Environment or an equivalent qualification;
- registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA); and
- the minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the facilities management environment, with a solid track record (at least 3-5 years) in people management.

The following would be an added advantage:
