**DIRECTOR PROTECTION SERVICES**

**Status of Position: 5-year renewable contract based on performance.**

**Core Customers**:

- University Management;
- Employees;
- Students and other Stakeholders Interfaces:

- Contract Security Companies;
- SA Police;
- Security Vendors/Suppliers

**Minimum Requirements**:

- NQF Level 8 qualification in Management/Business Administration with specialization in Security Risk Management or security related qualifications,
- Grade B, PSIRA Registration,
- At least 10 years’ experience in Protection Services of which 5 years in senior management/supervisory capacity,
- Knowledge in the security framework, crisis management at strategic and tactical level, investigations and technical security measures,
- Conducting security vulnerability assessments,
- Security operations management including emergency and crisis management.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic alignment of Protection Services and Traffic Control through development and implementation of strategic and operational plans on security and traffic
- Develops and implement security and safety policies and procedures such as emergency response and crisis management, disaster recovery, physical security and incident management.
- Ensures financial and contract management through development of a budget for Protection and Traffic in terms of the University’s strategic priorities.
- Provide team & stakeholder management through strategic leadership and advice on protection matters.
- Ensures systems management by overseeing that the data are collated and captured to effectively manage the Protection services function, e.g. statistics on the number/nature of security incidents reported by campuses.
