FINANCE Senior Professional Officer

**Requirements**:

- B Com degree preferably in the field of Economics or Accounting;
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial modelling and

forecasting;
- Local government knowledge and experience will be beneficial;
- Excellent analytical, problem - solving, decision making and MS

Office skills; and
- Knowledge of SAP, SQL and Visual Basic would be advantageous.

Key Performance Areas
- Creating, updating and maintaining of financial models and/or

databases;
- Maintaining the integrity of data used in financial models and

databases;
- Extracting, evaluating and assessing large data sets
- Prepare, compile, analyse, interpret and present the City’s Long

Term Financial Plan (LTFP);
- Identifying, analysing and interpreting trends or patterns in data

sets;
- Compile reports and presentations on findings;
- Conduct research and investigations to ensure relevance of existing

models;
- Financial analysis and preparation of prescribed reports;
- Maintain and update relevant SAP structures;

government legislation (Municipal Finance Management Act),

regulations (e.g. Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts and

Municipal Budget & Reporting Requirements), principles and relevant

projects as applicable to the City’s finance function;
- Building solid business relationships across various levels of the

organization to facilitate the objectives of the department; and
- Communicating with internal and external clients in a customer

centric manner in order to work on issues of common interest and/or

to share information.
