**HOTEL OPERATIONS MANAGER - CAPE TOWN - R34000 + Med Aid + Prov Fund**

Currently recruiting for an Operations Manager for a busy Hotel in Cape Town to assist with the General management of the property.

Required overview:

- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management professional qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position within the hotel industry as an Operations Manager.
- Thorough knowledge of Hotel Operations
- Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, collaboration, and development amongst team membersBasic acumen of Accounting and Financial Management
- Excellent management skills and the passion to continuously improve the guest experience and keep Operational Teams motivated
- Strong leadership and communications skills
- Outstanding problem solving skills and handling of challenging situations with professionalism
- Skilled in reporting, computer experience, including company issued software programs proficiency.
- Have a core value system, aligned with Honesty, Respect, Caring, Passion and Sustainability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting directly to the General Manager the Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of the daily operations and strategic direction.
- To manage and maintain hotel standards
- To ensure a viable operation with effective cost control in order to achieve required profit margins
- Achieve maximization of profits and return on investment over the long term by the prudent and efficient use of resources.
- Collaboration with Sales & Marketing Teams to continuously drive revenue and increase occupancy
- Monitoring departmental profitability including budgeting forecasting and cost control measures of all operational departments.
- Upholding regulations and compliance towards health and safety standards of the business
- Ensure the highest level of customers satisfaction and lowest rate of defection by building the Hotel reputation and market relationship, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a proactive and timeous manner
- To create, maintain and develop policies and strategies, which satisfy guidelines set, and ensure compliance of all legislation and company standard operating procedures with the HOD’s.
- Manages and controls the budgets, targets, cash and working capital effectively with the General Manager.
- Responsible for staff development and growth, as well as the successful running of all social economic development programs and all environmental strategies with the HOD’s
- Continually suggest ideas for improvements to the product and service to the guest
- Work towards achieving the departmental business objectives
- To assist the General Manager and Revenue Manager with budgeting and Forecasting when required
- To engage with guests when complaints are received and respond in a timeous and professional manner,
- To be willing when required to assist where possible and deliver the best possible service with flexibility over peak and low seasons
- Drive revenue generation through effective cost control, menu engineering and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team and ensure alignment with customer and market trends

Knowledge & Skills:

- Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills
- Thorough knowledge of Hotel Operations
- Skilled in reporting, computer experience, including company issued software programs proficiency
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Ability for problem solving and decision making
- Ensure a happy, healthy and positive working environment.
