The Catholic Health Care Association of Southern Africa (CATHCA) is the Catholic Church’s associate body for health in South Africa, Botswana, and Eswatini. The organization was established in 1987 and is a proud affiliate of the Southern African Catholics Bishops Conference. CATHCA is a membership-based association consisting of over 200+ faith-based, community-linked organisations working at the intersection of primary health care, mental health, HIV/TB, GBVF, and child safeguarding in some of the neediest communities in the region.

CATHCA seeks to recruit GBVF Community Advocates to work closely with the GBVF Project Manager, under the guidance of CATHCA’s Executive Director.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Organize and conduct peer education, community dialogues, door-to door visits, and community awareness events.

2. Link identified GBVF victims to local prevention-and-response service providers.

3. Contribute towards strengthening local systems against GBVF via stakeholder round table discussions.

4. Plan and implement knowledge, attitude and practice surveys as well as service satisfaction surveys.

5. Record and submit project statistics and narrative reports within defined timelines.

6. Participate in project review and mentoring meetings.

7. Carry out any other tasks as may be assigned by the GBVF Project Manager.

**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Matric qualification.
- Experience in community health work.
- Experience in facilitation.
- Ability to interact with GBVF victims, community members, civil society organizations, and government departments.
- Ability to speak English and languages spoken locally.
- Willingness to travel locally.

**Start date**:January 2024
**Stipend**:Dependent on level of experience and qualifications

Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: R2,500.00 - R3,500.00 per month
