**Payroll Manager - Wages (hourly paid employees) - Sandton**
**Job Summary**
The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the wage department and be responsible for ensuring that wages are processed on time, accurately and in compliance with respective government regulations. Impacting approximately 5,000 employees in multiple countries paid in their respective currency. Will report to the Group Payroll Manager and Group HR Manager.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Manage and supervise payroll team of 8 - 10 employees
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of related transactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations and change to pay rates.
- Investigate and resolve all queries and discrepancies in a timely manner
- Ability to problem solve and manage conflict effectively
- Liaise and communicate effectively with staff and all management levels
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors (internal / external / DoL)
- Maintain payroll company/ies system setup and rules
- Perform additional ad-hoc duties as required
- Statutory monthly and annual reports
**Required Skills/Abilities**:
- Extensive knowledge of payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in an accurate and professional manner
- Ability to work with and protect confidential information
- Proficient with SAGE payroll software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
**Requirements**:
- 15 - 20 years of payroll experience required (preferably covering RSA and Africa)
- Min 5 years of payroll management experience
- SAGE 300 payroll experience
- Degree in related field will be an advantage
