Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Regional IT Manager to join the team in Johannesburg. This individual will be responsible for the day to day management of a team of IT staff in their region. The Regional IT Manager’s role is to work closely with senior business and IT stakeholders to identify, define and deliver digital solutions that add value to AHK’s service to its clients. You will provide technology support to their designated business units, according to Group IT standards. The Regional IT Manager will also provide support to the centralised IT department when local solutions are being deployed globally. Travel will be required from time to time.

Required Competencies:

Required Knowledge and Work Experience:

- Educated to degree level (high grade).
- 3+ years experience in a similar role.
- Experience leading and developing people.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk to and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a translator between parties.

- Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of French is an advantage.

Desirable:

- BCS/IIBA Certified Business Analyst.
- Prince 2 or similar PM certification.
- ITIL Certification.
- Experience using modelling languages such as UML and BPMN.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Metals and Minerals sector experience.
- LIMS, JTS and/or Mobile Data Capture experience.
- Experience using tools such as Asana, Redmine, Git, Lucidchart/MS Visio and Google Apps.

**Responsibilities**:
Management
- Manage a team of regional IT staff to provide quality IT support to the region.
- Responsible for identifying and supporting the development of members of the Regional IT Support teams. This includes all areas of people management, such as recruitment, disciplinaries, absence/leave management and personal development reviews.
- Oversee the performance of the local IT support teams, using the ITSM tool to measure performance against support SLAs/KPIs.
- Ensure local IT teams are resolving issues in a timely manager.
- Liaise with Group IT management to ensure issues are escalated and resolved on time.
- Ensure local IT solutions and problem resolution are aligned to Group IT standards.

Business Systems Analysis
- Create clearly defined solution specifications.
- Analyse and present the solution ROI, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Lead workshops and interviews with key business stakeholders, to elicit and capture both the user’s and organisation’s requirements.
- Define the business problem and primary objectives of new projects. Identify and validate the key business requirements.
- Elicit and analyse functional, non-functional and technical requirements from business stakeholders.
- Understand problem domain and explain complex issues in clear terms to both technical and non-technical stake
