**JOB OVERVIEW**
- The core purpose of this role will be to ensure that the managed service we receive (from multiple vendors) delivers on the agreed SLA’s, is appropriate for our need and strategy and that we can measure and report on the implementation, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and administration of IT infrastructure systems. This includes but is not limited to the network infrastructure, servers, storage, telephony and databases to achieve availability, performance, and security objectives.This role is responsible to create new platform functionality across many functional areas and is required to collaborate with current customers and suppliers in establishing customer requirements, and to identify areas that can be significantly improved upon. This role will also be responsible for the management of the core Santam platforms (Guidewire/JDE/CRM) and other related technologies.This role will provides the aforementioned services to Santam Limited and Santam Namibia.- This role may be based in **Cape Town (Bellville) or Johannesburg (Sandton).**

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE**:

- To determine the Guidewire platform strategy
- Identify new features within the Package, implement these features after obtaining buy from Business
- Shaping and scoping the business requirements
- Management, hiring and sourcing of skilled resources across SA, but from various different countries such as India or the USA
- Determining where Santam goes with its largest claims, policy and finance system in the Group
- Managing the overseas business partners
- Large scale amount of Group facilitation with key stake holders in the Group within all major divisions
- Assists greatly in the Group Strategic Architecture function and the design of how Santam systems will integrate.
- Responsible for the management accounts of the Business Unit and the majority of the SIIC (Santam Strategic Investments and Initiatives Committee) budget
- Building strong relationships with different Group Leaders across the Group to become the trusted advisor on Insurance Systems

**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with a strong background in technical design/development
- 10-15 years’ and more of experience in delivering IT solutions at an enterprise level.
- 6 -10 years’ delivery of diverse digital products in and outside South Africa
- 8-12 years’ senior leadership experience with the ability to lead agile scrum teams.
- Proven experience in complex and large transactions
- Experience in continuous integration/continuous delivery practices
- Working knowledge of IT frame work like ITIL/COBIT
- Experience with lean and user-centered design methodologies
- Experience with agile development methodology
- Experienced in dealing with external suppliers and offshore business partners will be advantageous.
- 7+ years of intimate experience working on Networking, Server, Storage, or equivalent platforms in a complex environment.
