**Job Description**:

The Creditors Clerk will be responsible for the full creditor’s function of the organization and ensure that all creditors (national and international) are paid accurately and timeously. The position requires the processing of reconciliations against supplier’s statements, capturing invoices on the accounting software, dealing with queries, ensure compliance with the company’s financial policies and procedures, assist with audits and financial reports.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform supplier and bank reconciliations, and clearing of outstanding reconciling items, in preparing requisitions for payments
- Reconcile purchase orders to invoices
- Ensure invoices are accurately captured on the accounting software (currently Xero) daily
- Receive and check all payment requisitions in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- Load payments on the online banking system
- Ensure that the banking details on supplier invoices match that of the creditor being paid
- Respond (investigate and follow up) to all queries relating to payments
- Perform monthly supplier reconciliations to support all payments to approved suppliers
- Deal with queries from creditors and staff regarding payments
- Load new creditors on the online banking system
- Complete, accurate and timely processing and loading of electronic transfers (EFT) on the online banking
- Provide monthly creditors age analysis for review
- Filing of payments after release
- General office administration
- Support the finance team with the preparation of internal and external finance reports
- Assist the finance team in the preparation of the annual audit as well as donor specific audits

**Requirements**:

- Matric/Grade 12
- 2 - 3 Years proven experience as creditors clerk or in a similar administrative environment, preferably in a retail environment
- Proven computer literacy (MS EXCEL, MS WORD, Microsoft Outlook)
- Sound accounting knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure
- Be prepared to work overtime when required, especially at result time and month end
- Ability to reconcile vendor balances to supplier statements
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Understanding of GL accounts, vendor accounts and the creditors ledger
- Understanding of the fundamentals of accounting
- Continuous and consistent professionalism in all aspects of work
- Strong sense of accountability and operational excellence
- Ability to cope with ever-changing retail environment
- Well organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Accurate, thorough, and methodical
