Equipment Manufacturing: Mining is looking to hire a Field Service Technician who will be responsible to:

- Maintain, repair, service, and report on all site capital equipment both on surface and underground as per your Line Manager’s instructions and requirements.
- Render technical assistance on all equipment as required by your Line Manager.
- All maintenance, service and repairs must be carried out/completed to an agreed specification.
- Complete daily and weekly reports audits for all machines on site and ensure that a quotation on the Customers requirements is drawn up and forward timeously to the Customer. Quotations must be followed through with a purchasing order by the customer.
- Field Service Technicians to update Line Manager daily on all completed breakdowns and requirements to complete the breakdown; repair or maintenance on site and to inform the Line Manager before leaving the site.
- Immediately report any abuse/negligence by the operators on any of the equipment listing the relevant details to the supervisor and Line Manager in control of the operation and to the site supervisor.
- To always carry the correct/relevant equipment/tools to carry out the require site work, service, and repairs.
- Report to the client before leaving site by means of a neat, complete, and detailed service report. This report is also evidence of work done at site and hours worked. This report must be signed off by a senior supervisor on site daily and at all times kept current and up to date.
- It is the duty of the Field Service Technician to ensure that he has a security-, medical
- and induction clearance prior to visiting a site to carry out any works order/instruction by his Line Manager.
- The Field Service Technician must ensure that he is available on his cell phone 24/7 with a voice mail facility. Problems with the cell phone must be reported immediately to the Line Manager and it is the Field Service Technician’s responsibility to advice the Line Manager with an alternative contact number.
- At all times be medical fit to perform duties.
- At all times ensure that all PPE requirements are met.
- At all times ensure that your vehicles Safety Equipment is in order and to standard and a weekly check list is completed
- Ensure that the technical assistance on all equipment, as required by the client, is provided timorously to meet the agreed equipment availabilities in the area.
- Always ensure that the area service technicians carry the appropriate equipment / tools to perform their required site work, duties and services properly and in a professional manner.
- Ensure that your subordinates are always working safely and abide by the respective company and mine safety rules.
- Regular monitoring and reporting on i.e.:

- Audit and over inspect services performed on equipment.
- Planned maintenance services performed on equipment.
- Evaluation of technicians and operators’ standards for train and re-train programs.
- Operators abuse on any equipment and to submit a written report to the mine on your observations and recommendations.
- Correct OEM spares are always installed and fitted on equipment.
- Constantly liaise with the client and to ensure the correct and timorously availability of Axle, Wheel motors and Brake head assy. repairs.
- Forecast short-, medium
- and long-term stock requirements to maintain and improve on service levels on repairable components.
- Ensure that serviceable stock is maintained at optimal levels. Make use of historical and predicted usage to set minimum and maximum stock levels for each item so that reasonable commercial or cost limits are not exceeded.
- Ensure that excess/surplus and obsolete stock is identified monthly and returned to the main store.
- Liaise with all support departments to expedite and ensure that existing service levels are maintained and improved on.
- Ensure that documentation for all delivered goods is stamped and signed for by an authorized mine employee at the time of receipt of the goods.
- A proper filing system must be maintained for:

- Audit reports
- Machine hours per unit in your area
- Maintenance history of units in your area
- Responsible for all administrative duties regarding receipt and issuing and dispatch of stock items used for service jobs.
- Will report to the Business Manager or Technical Supervisor daily.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric
- Qualified Auto Electrician/Electrician/Millwright/Diesel Mechanic/Fitter (Section 26B/13).
