Hotel Duty Manager

A renowned establishment and wine estate in Stellenbosch is looking for an exceptional Duty Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that the guest experience from arrival to departure is seamless in accordance with all policies and procedures set.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure the highest standards are kept in guest service, cleanliness and maintenance standards
- Monitors Guest Relations employees to make sure all guests receive prompt and personal recognition
- Oversee all Guest Relations processes
- Assist in employee relations processes
- Able to carry out and complete all duties responsible for a Guest Relations Officer and Night Auditor
- Attend morning meetings
- Able to compile the roster, roster management
- Set up and create training for all new recruited Guest Relations Officers
- Ensure that all guest queries are taken and processed in a speedy and efficient manner
- Ensures that all Guest Relations Officers adhere to the established policies and procedures of the estate
- Ensure attention to detail in all tasks given
- Ensure all Guest Relations Officers are trained on all aspects of the Estate
- Ordering of Guest Relations Officers uniforms
- Ensures good communication and cooperation between front office department and other departments
- Reads all reservation correspondence prior to the guest arrival to understand the needs and wants of the guests
- Work closely with Housekeeping to ensure that the correct number of lodges are available and all incoming guests’ requirements are met
- Roster management
- Communicate to management concerned, movement of guests and guest comments.
**REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS**:
- Grade 12 plus diploma/certificate in Hospitality Industry/Tourism
- Preferably 2 - 3 years previous experience working at the front desk
- Passionate about the hospitality industry
- Excellent interpersonal
- & communication skills, written and verbal (in person and telephonic)
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills
- Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments and across cultures and religions
- Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
- Must be well-presented
- Honesty, flexibility and accountability
- Friendly, helpful, and outgoing
- Professional manner and attitude
- Natural warmth and friendliness
- Punctual & self-disciplined
- Extreme attention to detail
- Good basic computer and administration skills
- Flexible to work night shifts
