**Job Title: Restaurant Hostess**

**Job Overview**:
As a Restaurant Hostess, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests, ensuring they have an exceptional dining experience from the moment they arrive. You will be the first point of contact for guests, providing them with information about the restaurant, seating them at their tables, and managing reservations. Your exceptional customer service and communication skills will play a vital role in maintaining a positive image of the restaurant.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Greeting Guests: Welcome guests with a friendly demeanour as they enter the restaurant. Provide a warm and professional first impression to set the tone for their visit.
- Reservations Management: Handle phone and online reservations efficiently, accurately recording all necessary details. Allocate tables appropriately based on guest preferences, party size, and any special requests.
- Seating Guests: Escort guests to their tables, offering assistance with seating and ensuring their comfort. Manage the flow of guests to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times.
- Customer Assistance: Address guest inquiries, answer questions about the menu, daily specials, and restaurant policies. Offer recommendations based on guests' preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Waiting Area Maintenance: Keep the waiting area clean and organized, ensuring it remains inviting and comfortable for guests during their short wait.
- Coordination with Servers: Communicate effectively with the restaurant's serving staff to manage table turnovers and maintain efficient operations.
- Guest Relations: Handle guest complaints or concerns in a professional and empathetic manner, attempting to resolve issues promptly or escalating them to the appropriate management personnel.
- Upselling and Promotions: Inform guests about any ongoing promotions, specials to enhance the overall dining experience and increase customer satisfaction.
- Cash Handling: Process payments accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit cards, or any other acceptable forms of payment.
- Reservation Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of reservations, guest contact information, and special requests.
- Restaurant Ambiance: Assist in maintaining a pleasant and attractive dining environment by collaborating with the restaurant's staff to ensure cleanliness, proper lighting, and appropriate background music.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with grace and professionalism.
- Familiarity with Dineplan reservation systems and basic computer skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, including weekends and holidays.
