Our client is looking for a Technical veterinarian to join their fantastic team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supply ongoing in-field technical support to the sales force, farmers, and other personnel.
- Handle product complaints.
- Be involved in marketing trials.
- Research, prepare and deliver presentations at farmer’s days, veterinary training days or others.
- Liaison with key players in the animal industry.
- Provide technical and veterinary support in the development and maintenance of marketing material produced by the
- marketing department for both new and in-line products.
- Host at least 6 farmer days per quarter. Host coop training to be coordinated with our clients sales teams.
- Visit key clients with / without relevant sales representative / area manager.
- Speak at various veterinary meetings, congresses etc.
- Develop strategic activities with the Marketing team.
- Plan marketing and branding objectives by product group and develop marketing plans and strategies with the Marketing
- team.
- Collaborate with sales and procurement divisions to help develop strategic activities on identified marketing plans.
- Responsible for technical support of planning, implementing, and managing marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns.
- Self-study of relevant literature to become an expert in the area.
- Maintain a good level of awareness of current affairs in the veterinary and animal industry by self-study, conferences, attending meetings and personal contact with key players.

Key Skills:

- Performing diagnostic tests, including x-rays and blood or fluid analyses
- Administering medication and vaccines
- Calming animal patients down, often using humane sedatives
- Safely restraining animals for procedures
- Preparing animals for surgery, including sterilizing tools and administering anesthesia
- Supporting the veterinarian during surgery or other procedures
- Doing emergency first aid as necessary
- Caring for animals in treatment, including monitoring their eating and other habits, exercising them, trimming their claws and bathing them
- Updating animal patient medical records
- Educating animal owners on treatment plans, behavior changes, feeding, exercise and overall wellness for their animals
- Cleaning and organizing treatment and examination rooms

Qualifications:

- At least a B.V.Sc. or equivalent degree.
- Registration and being in good standing
- with the South African Veterinary
- Council.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- For the position based in Pretoria,
- fluency in Afrikaans on a technical
- level is a requirement.
