**Credit Portfolio Management**

*
Lead and coordinate the formulation, aggregation, and cascading of the Risk Appetite for Credit Risk, including the approval governance for Business Banking. Monitor, report and oversee the remediation of breaches thereof
*
Lead the development of methodologies for measurement of Credit Portfolio Management within Business Banking, leveraging the associated models/ processes defined by Group Risk function
*
Evaluate trends in the credit portfolio and conduct detailed analysis to optimise the Business Banking credit risk calculations and ensure compliance with approved credit granting mandates
*
Provide requirements and design inputs, particularly with regard to credit risk recognition, measurement, and its reporting as part of the Credit Risk core team for implementation of key credit risk related projects (e.g., Credit Management System, IFRS 9 impairment)
*
Lead a team of credit approvers to ensure high standard credit quality of the portfolio by using various credit assessment tools
*
Lead the determination of loan impairments and assuring compliance with IFRS 9 requirements concerning impairments
*
Lead enhancements to the Credit Measurement Framework, which include rating models (PD) and LGD/ EAD measurement jointly with the Group Risk function (regulatory risk)
*
Develop and enhance the Credit Reporting & Monitoring framework which meets the requirements of various external & internal stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Credit Risk reports

Provide input to and support the Chief Risk Officer in carrying out the responsibilities pertaining to Board Risk Committee including preparation of the information pack and responding to data/ analytical requests from the Committee
*
Partner with the Chief Risk Officer and lead the enhancement and review of Group Credit Policies & Standards in order to ensure that these reflect the best practice and regulate the risk assets of the Bank as directed by the Board
*
Advise and empower the business leadership to understand the business risk appetite and tolerance levels, as well as the inherent complexity that underlies prudential regulation to promote the correct business and capital decisions.

Advise and guide the business leadership ensuring that credit decisions are made in alignment with the overall credit management framework of the Bank and are compliant with both local and international financial regulations to safeguard the Bank’s from any potential financial and reputational risk

Leadership & Direction*

Lead and direct the delivery of the credit business partnering services within Business Banking and develop a culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, commerciality, results, responsiveness, and initiative-taking alignment with the business
*
Lead and monitor the implementation of the credit strategy, plans, processes, policies, procedures, and controls that are consistent with international best practices and the Group Risk and Finance requirements
*
Drive the evaluation of the credit function focusing on the credit rating, credit risk and portfolio management of the existing credit portfolio to enable Business Banking to make appropriate credit decisions and minimise credit and costs
*
Monitor the performance of models used in the lending business to ensure they remain appropriate and enable Business Banking to remain in line with approved risk appetite limits
*
Oversee the execution of all credit activities, covering credit granting, loan management and monitoring, credit analytics and all collection activities
*
Review and ensure compliance with approved credit framework and supporting policy suite
*
Collaborate with the business leadership to review the credit function audit findings and drive the implementation of credit controls measures to ensure an effective credit control environment within the Business Banking business area
*

Negotiate and synergise efforts across the business to ensure that the business achieves its outcomes and effectively navigates the required trade-offs where required
*
Keep abreast of SARB and BASEL credit risk regulatory developments and consider the impact on specific portfolios and formulate responses to advise the business and Group Risk and Finance
