1. ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reporting to the Regional HR Lead for Glencore Copper Africa, this role is responsible for promoting and implementing an IDEAL (Inclusion, diversity, equity, advancement and localized) strategy within the Glencore Copper Africa region, that enhances the Company's culture and reputation. The incumbent will work collaboratively with senior leadership, human resources, and other relevant stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, programs, and policies that create an inclusive, collaborative, and high performing culture that supports the Company's objectives, and that will attract, develop, and retain the best talent to drive business performance.

3. QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Sociology, or related field would be advantageous.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of national and local labour and human rights laws.
- Strong understanding of diversity and inclusion principles and practices, including experience in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse and report on diversity and inclusion data, being proficient at reading and interpreting dashboards and reports containing data.
- Able to use technology to increase efficiency and drive business results.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and the ability to explain complex or new ideas to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of the African mining industry and the unique challenges and opportunities for diversity and inclusion would be advantageous.
- Good change management and project management capabilities.
- Good problem-solving skills and conflict management experience.
- Team player and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- An open and honest personality, with good interpersonal skills and passionate about improving the work lives of others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading Diversity & Inclusion, similar projects or other cultural transformation initiatives and creating company-wide guidelines.
- Africa working experience, specifically in the DRC, would be advantageous.
4. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Lead the development, and implementation of an integrated and regionally driven IDEAL strategy that supports the achievement of business goals, including the focus on improving gender balance at GCA and the assets in the DRC.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop a roadmap to improve the company's diversity and inclusion efforts. and establishing IDEAL objectives and targets.
- Promote and foster a diverse and inclusive culture through creating and implementing specific initiatives, e.g., employee resource groups, affinity groups, mentorship programs and community outreach efforts.
- Set up a governance of IDEAL Forums and Committees at a local and functional level to create accountability to deliver the regional and local IDEAL agenda.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to plan and establish a clear communication and campaign framework, structures, and channels.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and HR teams to develop and implement diversity and inclusion policies, including recruitment and retention practices are inclusive and attract diverse talent.
- Collaborate with the Community Development team to co-create IDEAL initiatives that involves the community.
- Design and implement IDEAL training programs to socialize and educate employees, management, and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Training department to build IDEAL learning programs to be implemented within the region and to some extent provide training to colleagues.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure that the training programs are engaging, effective and accessible.
- Interpret, adhere to, promote, and provide guidance on the related Corporate Governance and Company policies and procedures.
- Keep up to date with, and maintain compliance with, national policies that are focused on inclusion in the workplace.
- Set, measure, analyse and monitor IDEAL goals, targets, data, and metrics to track progress over time, using the appropriate reporting methods to communicate and illustrate findings to senior leadership, making appropriate recommendations for improvement.
