We are looking for an experienced marketing lead to join our team
Marketing at a global level is aligned within industry verticals (CPG, Retail and General Merchandise), so the formal reporting line for this role will be within the Retail vertical of Marketing. This means you’ll be the lead marketer for South Africa, while also having the opportunity to influence and develop marketing programmes across EMEA. We think this combination is a great way to build connections, leverage best practice and create a globally connected team where everybody can really develop their career.
Within South Africa, we’re looking for a self-motivated, passionate and experienced marketer that can take the lead on a wide range of marketing programmes, in full partnership with country leadership, commercial and global marketing teams. This will include:
**Brand activation**: Finding opportunities to elevate the IRI brand and ensure we’re connected to the big trends & topics within our industry. This could be a combination of content marketing, thought leadership, events or maybe something we’ve never done before
**Content development**: Building a portfolio of marketing and sales content that operate across the purchase funnel to drive greater engagement and traction within our core audiences. We’re looking for a mindset of continuous measurement and optimisation here, with a real energy to try new things.
**Media management & PR**: Developing an active calendar of PR and media outreach (including social) to ensure IRI is perceived as a leader and key player in our chosen categories. To also serve as the first point of contact for all external media, and in doing so, establish great relationships and credibility.
**Demand creation**: Developing and implementing an active demand generation programme that drives incremental growth. This should go beyond lead generation into mid-funnel and conversion strategies. This would operate across both digital and offline channels, growing to become a key contributor to our financial success.
**Account Based Marketing**: Working with Commercial teams to develop custom marketing programmes into distinct groups of customers, or individual companies. This will be a combination of new prospect activation, but also supporting on pitch and RFP opportunities where a heightened level of marketing could have a significant impact.
**EMEA-wide vertical marketing**: Outside of South Africa, you’ll also play a role in developing marketing programmes for our Retail ‘vertical’ in EMEA. This is a new way of working for us, so will require lots of prioritisation and communication.
**Digital Marketing**: Working with global colleagues to ensure digital marketing strategies are optimised within South Africa. To include web content and user experience, marketing automation and CRM technologies. You’ll be the driving force here for South Africa, making sure our global investments and capabilities are fully leveraged.
**Internal Marketing**: Working with our Internal Comms team, you’ll also make sure that great news, client wins and milestones for South Africa are shared globally, while supporting Leadership teams with market specific communications.
**Marketing planning**: And to make sure the above is fully optimised, you’ll take the lead on marketing planning for South Africa - making sure that our resources and budgets are driving towards the greatest return on investment and close alignment with our broader business goals.
**Internal Comms**:You will also serve the function of internal communications within South Africa and partner with the broader Internal Comms and Local Executive team to ensure the communication and messaging reaching our employees and clients are consistant in brand and well designed in content and tone.
**Experience**: Required
- 5 - 10 years: Relevant work experience in a similar industry
