Skills Trainer

Our client is looking for a Skills Trainer to join their team.
Key areas of responsibility will be:
Seek and gather information from management, and departments regarding the effectiveness of completed training courses and constantly seek to improve
Create printed and instructional materials to be used in training
Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training employees
Schedule and conduct meetings with management to proactively identify topics to be address or areas in need of additional instruction
Developing internal marketing materials to be distributed within the company promoting learning opportunities
Assist in planning, creating and implementing yearly training targets and budgets
Assist in convening the training committee and ensuring that appropriate consultative processes around skills development are implemented
That appropriate procedures and records are kept of training committee meetings
Assist in the development of the WSP and the necessary consultation thereon
Liaise with relevant SETAs around issues of skills development
Liaise with relevant learning providers in the implementation of learning programmes
Oversee the implementation of learning programmes and keep appropriate training records
SETA registration of learners & related remediation
Time & Attendance reports for learners
Administration of the Learner Management system
Data capturing of information and administration of documentation generated through the training process
Manage and upload the documents required for tranche claims with various SETA’s
Update and amend reports as required
Compile skills development reports for relevant departments / stakeholders
Report on training conducted to relevant SETAs and ensure participation in learnerships and skills programmes
Report on training conducted to relevant departments and senior management for audit purposes
Assist in the strategic alignment of the training and development of skills for the Group
Assist in conducting analyses to determine training outcomes
Understand the Sector Skills Plan with focus on scarce and critical skills planning
People skills
Excellent Pc skills (Word and Excel)
Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal).
Understanding of Skills Development (SD), SAQA, NQF, SETAs and Learnerships. Knowledge of Skills Development Act, Skills Development Levies Act, Learnerships Regulations, Apprenticeship Regulations, and Mandatory/Discretionary Grants processes.
Note: Even though there are skills trainers based in all major provinces - the training administrator role requires co-ordination of training programmes among different provinces and regions.
The main point of contact between the company and SETA and will be responsible for building sound relationships and maintaining awareness of developments and changes within the SETA and their requirements.
Responsible for assisting in preparing and submitting the ATR/WSP on an annual basis.
Maintain and update learnership and any other relevant training records as required.
Understand mandatory and discretionary grant criteria and grant claim procedures.
Report on all training interventions and progress on WSP as required.
Employed/unemployed learner recruitment
Any other related duties.

**Qualifications**:
Have a good understanding of the Skills development levies Act/Skills development Act, National Qualifications Framework (NQF), National Skills Authority (NSA), OFO (Organising framework for occupations) codes, levies, grants, learnerships etc. Ensures compliance with the NSDS (National Skills Development Strategy).
Proficient in training methodologies and best practices.
Result-driven taking accountability to deliver despite obstacles.
Fully vaccinated
Understand the mandatory and discretionary grant criteria and grant claim procedures.
