The primary objective of the General Manager position is to be a direct representative, responsible for making and implementing sound decisions on behalf of the company in all areas of the planning, directing and coordination of the division assigned to. The General Manager has a direct reporting responsibility to the Managing Director.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification (3-year degree / diploma / NQF Level 6)
- 5 years’ experience in a similar position and/or similar industry will be highly advantageous.
- 5-10 years experience of people management

**Knowledge requirements**:

- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique to best position the division / branch.
- Knowledge of and insight into local and global industry dynamics and associated value propositions.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; e.g. customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents and government processes that impacts on the company’s and clients’ industries and business operations
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products and / or services; knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques and sales control systems
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data (compilation of budgets, balance sheets, income statements, forecasts, etc.)
- Knowledge of relevant public safety and security policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people and property.
- Knowledge of quality control processes, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective storage and distribution of products (equipment and parts)
- Knowledge of the English language as business communications medium - spelling, grammar, rules of composition, language structure, etc.
- Competence requirements:
