**Job Description**:
**Overview & Purpose**:
The HRBP role is to enable business to give life to the company goal of being a great place for its employees. In addition HRBP’s will play an active role in aligning key business strategic outcomes with best people practices. The essence of the BP role is close involvement with business teams for business success. The HRBP will be responsible for:

- Contributing to strategy discussions and decision-making at business unit level.
- Helping line managers execute business unit strategy.
- Providing ideas and challenge to management teams, thus acting as a catalyst for positive change.
- Advising Management on people issues, supported by measurement and evaluation of key people metrics.
- Being the expert and conduit on people challenges - especially Talent, Performance, and Diversity and Change management.
- Collaborating with other parts of HR (e.g. Training, Payroll and Recruitment) to align their work with the business and to deliver a seamless and integrated HR service.

HR Business Partners must align themselves with the OUTsurance culture and value system as well as operate within the spirit of the HR framework and mandate.

In addition the HRBP will need following personal traits and abilities:

**Responsibilities**:

**Business Partnering**:
Identify HR priorities from company and departmental plans, translating business requirements into effective HR practices and delivering people solutions aligned to the business objectives.

**Talent Management**:
Facilitate/guide and mentor employees on all levels by creating learning opportunities and giving them guidance in terms of personal and professional development as part of our Talent Management objectives, as well as assist with the interview and selection process of internal development programmes in collaboration with the Leadership Coordinator.

**Employment Equity**:
Assists in implementing and monitoring plans as well as driving the Employment Equity goals for the business unit that promotes the transformation of the organisation in line with company policy and objectives and in compliance with relevant legislation.

**Industrial Relations**:
Assist with the management of grievances, discipline and disputes to promote fairness and an enabling and stable work environment.

Handle CCMA cases on behalf of the company when required.

Coordinate the full recruitment process from advert to placement for all leadership roles within the business unit.

**Employee Assistance/Wellness**:

Consult with Line Managers on retaining and leveraging key talent.

**Diversity Management**:
Promote an organisational culture that ensures the greater inclusion of employees from different backgrounds into an organization's structure.

**Change Management**:
Proactively plan and facilitate change management processes where needed.

Equip, assist and guide Line management to effectively manage change and act as a change enabler.

**HR Feedback, Reporting & Admin**:
Being able to Extract, Analyse and interpret Business & HR information/metrics to facilitate effective business decision making and comply with policy and legislative requirements.

Attend and participate in Management and Department meetings in order to communicate relevant changes, updates etc. which will require some degree of public speaking ability.
