Duties/Pligte
- **Strategic communication**:developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive IT communication plan that is aligned with the Division's strategic priorities. This includes:
- Identifying key stakeholders and the development of targeted communication initiatives.
- Ensuring that the artefacts used on various communication platforms are aligned to the University's corporate identity.
- Guiding, assisting or initiating diverse marketing campaigns for IT initiatives, technology trends or cyber security threats that are aligned to the academic calendar.
- The design and maintenance of the IT website, the service catalogue, the document management repository and the knowledge base.
- The management and oversight of all IT communication platforms and providing feedback and/or raising awareness as required.
- Liaising with the various stakeholders across the University about communication initiatives.
- ** Internal and external communication**:
- Drafting, distributing and overseeing the internal and external communication about, for example, IT incidents, maintenance weekends, IT initiatives, projects, changes, IT-events, IT strategy, staff wellness, etc.
- Assisting with the awareness and training campaigns.
- IT newsletter and annual report: Providing and planning relevant higher education and SU content that would be of interest to the stakeholder groups.
- Assisting with regular reporting to the Senate and Council.
- ** Editing and translation**:
- Basic editing and proofreading of all IT reports, policies, guidelines, regulations and presentations.
- ** Research, monitoring and innovation**:
- Keeping abreast of and monitoring the communication trends and the preferred communication channels of all stakeholder groups, and providing reports as required.
- Monitoring social media channels and posting relevant information to mitigate risks, and managing the University'ss reputation.
- ** Strategiese kommunikasie**:ontwikkel, implementeer en bestuur 'n omvattende IT- kommunikasieplan wat in lyn is met die Afdeling se strategiese prioriteite. Dit sluit in:
- Die identifisering van sleutelbelanghebbendes en die ontwikkeling van geteikende kommunikasie-initiatiewe.
- Verseker dat multimedia elemente wat op verskeie kommunikasieplatforms gebruik word, voldoen aan die Universiteit se korporatiewe identiteit.
- Die inisiëring, bestuur en/of leiding gee van diverse bemarkingsveldtogte vir IT- inisiatiewe, tegnologietendense of kuberveiligheidsbedreigings wat belyn is met die akademiese kalender.;
- Die (her)ontwerp van template vir selfhelp-gidse, e-pos-template en standaard operasionele prosedures.
- Die ontwerp en instandhouding van die IT-webwerf, dienskatalogus, dokumentbestuur-bewaarplek en kennisbasis.
- Die bestuur en toesig oor alle IT-kommunikasieplatforms en die verskaffing van terugvoer en/of bewusmaking soos nodig.
- Skakel met die verskillende belanghebbendes oor kommunikasie-initiatiewe.
- ** Interne en eksterne kommunikasie**:
- Saamstel, verspreiding en toesighouding oor interne en eksterne kommunikasie rakende, byvoorbeeld, IT-insidente, instandhoudingsnaweke, IT-inisiatiewe, projekte, veranderinge, IT-geleenthede, IT-strategie, personeelwelstand, ens.
- Hulpverlening met die bewustheid
- en opleidingsveldtogte.
- IT-nuusbrief en jaarverslag: Verskaf en beplan tersaaklike hoëronderwys
- en US-inhoud wat van belang is vir die belanghebbendegroepe.
- Verleen bystand met gereelde verslaggewing aan die Senaat en Raad.
- ** Redigering en vertaling**:
- Basiese redigering en proeflees van alle IT-verslae, beleide, riglyne, regulasies en aanbiedings.
- ** Navorsing, monitoring and innovasie**:
- Bly op hoogte van kommunikasietendense en monitor die voorkeurkommunikasiekanale van alle belanghebbendes, en verskaf verslae soos nodig.
- Monitor sosiale media kanale en plaas tersaaklike inligting om risiko¿s te beperk en bestuur die Universiteit se reputasie.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- An NQF Level 7 degree in either language or journalism.
- At least five years' experience working in an IT and/or educational environment tasked with the following:
- Writing, translation and editing;
- Graphic design for print and digital;
- Web design;
- Managing a variety of communication channels;
- Communicating with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience of strategic communication and stakeholder analysis to ensure that correct channels and targeted messaging are used.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of technology.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and how to optimally utilise them.
- A good understanding of graphic design and how to use it for the best possible impact.
- Excellent people skills.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with an ability to convey technical information in layman's terms and adapting documentation for different target audiences.
- Basic translation skills.
- Excellent MS Office (in particular MS Word and MS PowerPoint) skills.
