Sales Manager

a. Develop and implement effective sales strategies
b. Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets within Retail Hardware outlets
c. Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
d. Negotiate pricing strategies with retail hardware head offices
e. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the external Sales Team f
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics and suggest improvements to achieve sales targets
g. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
h. Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities within the retail hardware industry
i. Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs
j. Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency
k. Keep abreast of new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.
l. Hold Sales Reps accountable for performance by meeting daily, weekly with each sales Rep to review opportunities, current leads and overall work efforts.
m. Assist Sales Reps in developing business plans that will ensure sales targets are achieved and needs are being met.
n. Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly performance reviews with Sales Reps, reviewing actual performance against sales targets and counsel on improvement.
o. Maintain a Sales Rep team by selecting, inducting, motivating and training employees.
p. Work with the Marketing Department to effectively market company within the professional market and create marketing activities and collateral aimed at increasing sales.
q. Coordinate and manage account plans, sales performance and sales forecasts.
r. Develop strategies, in conjunction with the marketing team for business growth, including how to enter new segments, manage and grow the professional base and increase opportunities for direct sales within the retail hardware industry.
s. Responsible for disciplinary action when required.
t. Identify opportunities to develop new products/offerings to increase sales.
u. Increase market share of identified acceleration projects
v. Growing value add and solution sales. w. Customer relationship management
x. Complying with established controls and authority levels in the scope of the function
**i. Minimum academic qualification**: Relevant Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
**ii. Qualifications as an added advantage**: MBA
**iii. General work experience (years)**: 8 years progressive Sales Management within a large retail Hardware Environment experience in a medium to large manufacturing organisation.
